FORESTS FOREVER How We Spend Your Gift
With more than 10,000 California supporters we are the state’s largest citizens’ organization working on a dedicated year-round basis to protect the forests and wildlife habitat of California.
Forests Forever is a grassroots nonprofit group working locally and statewide to safeguard California’s coast redwoods, giant sequoias, disappearing oak woodlands, and other endangered forest ecosystems.
Our goals include:
- Reducing the frequency and intensity of wildfires by banning clearcutting
- Instituting true sustainable forestry
- Protecting the quality and quantity of our drinking water, most of which originates in forested watersheds
Forests Forever uses direct-contact organizing to build support for these goals, working with local and statewide groups. We build effective coalitions to win stronger protections and we support pro-forest candidates for political office. We also keep citizens informed about key legislative, executive and judicial actions.
