California taxpayers must deny public dollars to forest destroyers

Enactment of A.B. 416 would likely have a major effect for the better on the use and conservation of tropical and boreal forests worldwide.
The bill would require certain contractors with the State of California to provide evidence that their operations in sensitive tropical and boreal regions are not linked to forest destruction and degradation or abuses of indigenous peoples' rights.
With the climate and species-extinction crises increasingly evident on every side, few public policy measures would do more to alleviate both than the California Deforestation-Free Procurement Act!
