Egged on by the timber industry and other extractive interests, some members of Congress have once again chosen to ignore science in order to ram destructive logging projects through without adequate transparency and environmental review. The so-called Emergency Wildfire and Public Safety Act (EWPSA), S. 4431 and H.R. 7978, are another bad idea for forests and communities that depend on them. These bills must be stopped!
